At least for this week.

This is why I do what I do: to capture the most utterly ridiculous moments in life to remind us what it’s really all about.

Here’s to looking like Yanni or a prepubescent teenager (if you are one, don’t worry, it won’t last).

San Diego :: Day 2

Apr 18

2009

Today, we headed out to Coronado Island. Aaron had been there before, and it is a must when you are in San Diego!

If you have never been, it has a really cool beach/rich people vibe (if you can believe that combination). Lots of shops and small streets. Very quaint.

We had breakfast at the Villa Nueva Bakery & Cafe and had the best jam-filled puff pastry thingy.

I enjoy my food. And I am also sans makeup (which is why you can barely see my brows – they don’t really exist!)

If the weather had been nicer, I would have taken a lot more pictures. But it was cold, windy AND dreary. Very odd weather for San Diego. But the beach still looked amazing.

After deciding that it was too cold for me to bear, we headed back to our hotel to chill for a little while before heading out to San Diego’s Gaslamp District. It has been cleaned up since its days as the red light area, and it has a really cool vibe. Kind of like downtown Dallas plus more variety in food. At the recommendation of a friend, we had dinner at Croce’s Restaurant. And true to my nature, anytime we go to a fancy restaurant, I ALWAYS order duck or lamb. It’s my splurge protein. And it was amazing.

I think this trip was only the third one that Aaron & I have ever taken by ourselves (including our honeymoon). I think that the longer you’re married, the more fun they are every time. We can’t wait to do it again!
