We knew Beth back when she was a single mother of two great children. The second she told us that she had met a guy, we had a feeling it was all over. And indeed it was. According to them, the chemistry was electric. Instant. Palpable. The moment their eyes met, they knew. How many people can actually say that?! :) They are now happily married, serving in our church and starting a music ministry.

They mainly just wanted some pictures for their new website. Headshots and that kind of stuff. But I told Aaron before they arrived, “I think we need to start off the session with the two of them together. I don’t even know how to photograph individuals anymore – unless a wedding dress is involved!” So once I got all the lovey-dovey stuff done, we got some individual shots. That’s how you get me in the groove! :)

That energy that got them in trouble in the first place was so evident during our shoot. It was like photographing honeymooners! The thing I noticed the most was how much he made her laugh. ALL the time.

My favorite

See? Always making her laugh. :)

Hailey is cute. Like, ridiculously cute. Like, if I had to choose between her and a puppy, it would be a very difficult decision for me. Especially since I usually prefer animals to some humans. ;)

But besides being adorable, this girl is full of talent. She recently launched her own company for floral design, and her business has started booming! Not to my surprise, of course – a girl with that much talent and personality is bound to go far! I have a feeling that she and I will be doing plenty of collaborations together. Especially since I kill flowers and don’t have a clue how to keep them alive. And we will actually be working on a wedding together in June – I can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

Hailey, you are freaking adorable!

I recognize roses … and that’s about it. :) But isn’t this spectacular?!?!

Simple white hydrangeas with a long, dramatic ribbon

A pop of color! No clue what that purple stuff is, but I like!

I hope this doesn’t come as a huge disappointment to people (then again, no one may really care), but I recently decided not to do anymore senior shoots. I really have nothing against them – the kids are always nice, the parents are cool, and it’s usually fun. But we all know that my passion is weddings. That’s what I want to photograph. All day long. So while the opportunities to shoot something else are always greatly appreciated, I realized that I need to spend as much time as possible doing wedding-related shoots. And populating my blog with them. :)

However, I gladly made an exception for Nick. He goes to our youth, and we’ve watched him grow up from afar. And he has turned out to be an amazing drummer and a spectacular young man with a heart after God. Unlike most kids in our area, he doesn’t live the most luxurious life. In fact, his most beloved possession (besides his snare) is his car because he paid for it himself. He caught the eye of Kyle Fox, one of the youth coordinators, who asked us if we would be willing to offer our services for his senior pictures. And we didn’t hesitate.

Bear with me as I get a little cheesy here. But I thought it was cool to have his snare next to some natural wood. ‘Cuz you know … it’s made of wood. :) Isn’t it?!?!?!

Congratulations, Nick! We can’t wait to see you travel the world, drumming for Jesus! ;)
